City Year New Hampshire has published a spotlight piece on Project Ubuntu. Daniel put together a video journal based on his experience of “Spirit, Discipline, Purpose and Pride” among CYNH members. Check it out here.
Pawn and Paul’s wedding
At Pawn’s wedding, which quoted the ubuntu proverb on its invitations, she and her husband Paul chose to focus the event on the guests themselves, as they were the community that ultimately provided the foundation for the marriage. Rather than being suddenly pronounced “husband and wife,” the couple used the entire ceremony to demonstrate that journey, including incorporating a Thai tradition of wedding guests pouring water over the couple’s hands and blessing them. In this way the community married the couple; they became a union through other people.
